Abstract
The aim of this work is to develop a tool that will allow both energy consultants as well as the manufacturing companies themselves, to analyze production process and the tied energy system. The tool is linked to the so-called TOP-Energy Framework. It consists of the simulator eProc and several analysis modules for evaluating energy systems. The focus of this tool is not on the planning of new, but on the analysis and evaluation of existing production processes. The tool provides the user with the ability to synthesize models of process chains from pre-prepared models of process step using a graphical user interface and a modeling language. The simulator eProc is used to calculate unknown system values and assists the user in the data inquiry. The analytical methods allow the user to identify weaknesses in the existing process chain to develop variants. Specific measures can be derived from the different simulations of variants. The methods are evaluated on real-life examples. It can be shown where that the proposed method satisfies the requirements of practice. Examples serve the fresh milk in a dairy production and the production of tissue paper in a paper mill.
